/ About the project
As a pioneering Canadian community funding platform for stock gifting, Olio faced the classic startup hurdle: a lack of clear identity and a complex regulatory sales journey. Tasked with building their MVP from the ground up, we needed to create an experience that felt secure enough for financial investments yet approachable enough for families and gift-givers.
I led the design of the MVP app and web platform, centring the visual narrative around the "Gift Growth" strategy. My execution focused on optimizing the sales journey, reducing user friction through a simplified onboarding flow that balanced complex compliance requirements with a clean, modern aesthetic. I implemented a design system that prioritized "bottom-line" performance metrics, ensuring the UI directly supported user retention and lifetime value.
The success of the MVP and the clarity of the digital identity were instrumental in Olio securing additional funding. By delivering a product that was as technically sound as it was visually distinct, I helped position the brand for its next phase of brokerage integration and market expansion.
